Hope

This is the text on a candle, I bought yesterday at H&M. I think, it is a very positive and beautiful text, and it is a good way to remind yourself never to give up hope on anything.

Street art

Copenhagen contains many things to see and do. But art can not only to be found in museums.

If you walk around at Vesterbro, you will see art everywhere. I was there the other day enjoying the sun, and I took some pictures of the things, I liked the most.

Oatmeal biscuits

When making biscuits I have often thought about them as being delicious but not so healthy. Then I started replacing some of the flour with oatmeal and adding a little less sugar. It's still a cake, but a more healthy one.

You can vary the amount of oatmeal and flour, depending on how you like it, but here is the recipe, I used for these delicious ones, you see on the pictures.

Ingredients:

250 grams of butter.

225 grams of flour.

1/2 dl. sugar.

1 teaspoon vanilla sugar.

1 spoon baking powder.

1,5 dl. oatmeal.

(oil /water.)

First you mix flour, sugar, vanilla sugar, oatmeal and baking powder. Then you add melted butter and stir.

Then you add oil or water, until your dough is moist and even.

Make small balls of the dough, and bake them in a preheated oven on 200 degrees for 5- 10 minutes.

Guest food

 

If you are having a reception or a get-together for family and friends, it is always good to have food, that looks delicious and works as a delicate accessory for the drinks.

On the pictures you see my suggestions, which are:

1) Small pancakes with prawns and lumpfish roe. The small pancakes are smeared with cream cheese, before the shrimp is added.

2) Mini toasts with sour creme and lumpfish roe on top.

Heels

Regardless if you are going to a party or a dinner on a warm spring evening, heels will spice up your outfit.

I found these pairs from Asos and Topshop. The styles are all very different, and the white ones can be used during daytime, whereas the silver would be perfekt for a cocktail date.

Scones

Today I have been making scones.

These are the most easy to make, and they taste so delicious.

You can make them with or without chocolate, depending on your taste.

Here is the recipe:

Mix 500 grams of flour with 1 tea spoon of salt, 1,5 tea spoon of baking powder and 1,5 spoons of sugar.

Add 125 grams of butter and 3,5 dl milk.

Stir until you have a good dough.

If you want to, you can add 100 grams of chopped chocolate to the dough, but you can also make them without the chocolate.

Make small balls of the dough, and bake them 15-20 minutes in an oven, that is 200 degrees.

Stockholm

City breaks is often a good way to travel, even if you only have a few days off.

Stockholm is a good place for a weekend trip, because the city is easy to get around in, and it contains a lot of attractions and cosy places to visit.

There are some places, that are must sees.

Gamla Stan is an area with small old streets and houses from the 1300 century. It is a charming part of the city with shops, restaurants and museums.

Berns Hotel is also one of the places, that is worth a visit. Staying at the hotel is especially a nice experience because of the breakfast, that can be enjoyed at the hotel's beautiful restaurant with huge chandeliers. But in the evenings Berns Hotel is also a place to go for drinks. Depending on the night it is either possible to get a drink or go to the club downstairs and dance the night away.

For shopping enthusiasts Stureplan is a good place to go. It is very good located in the middle of everything, and it contains so many different shops, that everybody would be able to find something they like.

Watches

Nothing adds more class to an outfit than a nice watch. I have been looking at watches both for men and for women, and here are my favourites.

For men it is these two very classic and masculine watches.

This one in silver is from Gucci. The design makes it a fine timepiece, that never goes out of fashion.

The black Hugo Boss is a little more modern and would be perfect for a younger guy. The thick black leather makes it a very stable and masculine watch, that can be used for all occasions.

The watch for women that I absolutely love is this TAG Heur, Link Lady. The gold and stones makes it just as beautiful as a jewellery.

A coffee a day keeps the doctor away

There is good coffee, and then there is really good coffee.

The coffee from Risteriet is the best, I have had so far. The coffee is such a good quality, that you can both taste and smell the difference.

They believe, that new roasted coffee beans makes the difference in a good cup of coffee, and they search for the best beans on the market. They always buy quantities of the beans, that are relatively small, so that the raw beans are always completely fresh.
